FAVORITE LOCAL RESTAURANT?

FAVORITE LOCAL RESTAURANT? NO MATTER WHERE YOU ARE OR LIVE, WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE LOCAL RESTAURANT? NAME SOMETHING THAT IS NOT A CHAIN RESTAURANT, BUT SOMETHING VERY LOCAL THAT HAS THE BEST FOOD ANYWHERE. IF YOU HAVE SEVERAL DEPENDING ON FOOD NATIONALITY...PLEASE LIST THEM. IF YOU LIVE NEAR ME...AND I HOPE YOU DO..I AM HOPING YOU CAN TURN ME ON TO A NEW PLACE I HAVE NEVER BEEN. OR IF YOU ARE NOT LOCAL, MAYBE I WILL BE IN YOUR CITY SOMETIME AND THEN WILL HAVE AN IDEA WHERE TO GO...AS RECOMMENDED BY YOU!! SO PLEASE, LIST THE TOWN AND THE NAME OF THE RESTAURANT AND IF THERE IS A SPECIAL ITEM FROM A MENU, PLEASE LET ME AND ALL OF US KNOW. THANKS! I HAVE 2 FAVORITE PIZZA PLACES...ANGELO'S PIZZA VILLA IN WAUSAU AND ROLLIN DOUGH IN WISCONSIN RAPIDS. BOTH MAKE THE BEST THIN CRUST PIZZA. ROTHSCHILD ALSO HAS PAPILLON'S PIZZA...THEY MAKE ABSOLUTELY THE BEST ITAL LION FRIES WITH CHEESE. THESE ARE TO DIE FOR!! WHEN IT COMES TO CHINESE...FOR ME IT HAS TO BE SHAW LEE IN WISCONSIN RAPIDS. AND WHEN IT COMES TO BURGERS...MY FAVORITE PLACE IS HILLTOP TAVERN IN STEVENS POINT. FISH FRIES....HMMMM..WILL HAVE TO GET BACK TO YOU ON THAT ONE...I HAVE HAD SO MANY FROM MANY DIFFERENT PLACES. OK...ITS GETTING LATE...AND I KNOW I MUST BE MISSING A PLACE...BUT I CAN ALWAYS ADD ANOTHER COMMENT LATER. I AM RESPONSIBLE FOR MY OWN HAPPINESS!! (MY LIFE'S PHILOSOPHY) |

Most people around here would probably say Chicken DeeLite, but I prefer it's "The Chinese Restaurant." I don't think it has a real name - maybe "Chinese Takeout." But, for a little town - it's great food! BTW, I think our Mexican restaurant is called "The Mexican Restaurant. Also, around here (small town stuff again), locals call a restaurant by the name it had when it first opened, so it might've gone through a half-dozen name changes & will still call it the same thing. You'll hear people say, "Oh, Smithson's has the best seafood... I dunno what it's called now."

I don't have a favorite in Madison. This weekend I was talking with friends about Restaurants. I remembered your post. My favorite in the area is the Glarner Stube in New Glarus You can't cross the sea merely by standing and staring at the water.
