Hello and welcome... it's always worth trying something new in the blogs, and you can always use the preview button to see what it would look like, although sometimes the preview is inaccurate - but shows test and bling correctly - the preview button is the one between the ABC spellchecker and the ? help at the top of the blog edit page. I had a look at setting the background of a post to a bling and this does now work according to the help and I tested it as well, so it does not look like it. But you can change the blog and posts colours under the Color option on your blog main page.. and this allows you also set the blog background bling - but not for posts. No the techo-babble is not that hard, lots of options but I would start with changing the posts background colours using the option above initially... it's easy to revert if you do not like it. You can always use multiple blings in a post as well as an image for example the wall is made of the same bling repeated twice and and over two lines.. It's easy to change the colour and size of text using the menu items.. also on the left of the Post add/edit screen are several examples changing the background of part of a post. Hope this helps

I did see an issue with the X not disappearing - but that I suspected might be because the image failed to download in time for the page to be displayed - I've seen that with slow internet connections and other sites with pictures - have not tested everything with every browser - so impossible to say - but it seems strange to me that the same code displays different in different browsers

It works the idea. I tested it on my blog header. The X problem I suspect is a browser compatibility issue. In regard to the X behind the image I have tested it out on chrome and IE9 (I think it is the version on my laptop ) and it does not appear at all now on these browsers currently - unusually the images by and large appear centered on IE 8 I found one rogue image so far though also now however they are all left aligned on Chrome It would appear they might be still working in the background however I think website compatibility with IE8 & with all browsers is important thing, but I won't hold my breath there Thanks for the help Gerk btw much appreciated.

Am doing a few test output to see if I can reproduce the problem and get a solution - so you may see that I quoted you a few times - I then deleted the comments if they are not as expected. Bling can be placed anywhere within text and will appear properly. However if the site decide to filter bling it may operate the same way profile pictures or normal images do. [_center]This is a bling test [_bling 442320] middle [_bling 442325] inserted in centered text![_/center] Profile Pictures operate differently as they are subject to the filter. They are aligned to the left of the section so we need to use the BG /BG option to contain the profile pcitures and center them. [_center][_bg][_photo gerk321cum][_photo gerk321cum][_/bg] - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - [_bg][_photo gerk321cum][_photo gerk321cum][_/bg][_center] Note that there is one center command covering the three lines producing the output below (remember to remove the underscore when using). However, if the profile pictures are placed within flowing text the pictures will always float to the left of the section regardless. This can cause vertical alignment issues as well. As the BG command always goes to a new line it is not possible to keep the text and pictures on the same line or alignment and positioning is lost. There are a few options to deal with different issues that arise, but they get more complex and some depend upon the preference of the individual. It is easiest therefore to keep centered profile pictures on a line on their own and have a BG /BG option for each line. Hope this helps a bit further. For people who do not use these options then this is meaningless, also apologies for the glut of my profile pictures but I had to use something.

Yes the image can be a bling, just not sure if the blings are subject to the content filter, but the center and background can be set and changed this way. Become a blog watcher sweet_vm
