Why was it not possible to opt out of any of the three requested for sharing my information?

Unless the three statemnets were agreed to it was impossible to log in to my account.

 I was thinking the same, why no option to tick refusing consent? Tick all 3 boxes and agree and let the site carry on as before is apparently the only option. I didn't tick and agree, I just closed the window and relaunched the site and was taken to my homepage.

I read the link for further information. It made for interesting reading.

"Please note that, if you choose not to provide Sensitive Personal Data, certain features or services may be unavailable or not function properly."

At some stage the site is going to have to place a link on the accounts page giving EU users the right to access their personal data & the right to erase it.

 Well I think that is the whole idea - if you don't wish to agree to the options, then you wont be allowed to use the site.

I wonder how many defunct profiles they will now have to remove from the system that haven't been accessed for some time - surely they must have some obligation to delete those.

They never remove any defunct profiles, what they do do is to use them to send out fake messages, views etc.

Yes it is based on the new EU rules, but they should have given us the option not to have to agree to everything
