Its OVER

No, not a relationship, but the holidays. They are forever getting here, then in the blink of an eye, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years fly by!! Then we are left with the tree, decorations, trimmings, and for me a bit of sadness that it has all passed for yet one more year.

I took down my Christmas tree today. My who was home from the Army for the first time in along time wanted a real live tree. He and his sister are the original Christmas !! The fresh smell of evergreen makes me smile.

It took me over two hours to get the last two strings of lights off that tree. By the time I was done, I was glaring at the tree like it was a mortal enemy engaged in combat for it's life. Well in a way I guess you could say it was, after all I was removing its dress and ornaments stripping it bare for goodness sakes.

Now we are all back to the normal hum drum of our lives, the every day chores, and jobs. I always am amazed at the transition one single day can make. The 2010 Holidays, from Thanksgiving on are but a mere memory, not to be thought of until Thanksgiving of this year 2011. Then the cycle repeats itself, which is the most wonderful thing of all, we can keep redoing it and making it better each year.

So, maybe it really isn't OVER but merely in the planning stages now.
