Recently, several men actually noted this space was becoming too stereotypically male.**
So sound off!!
Have we slipped around the bend and are now irretrievable?
Or do the typical fetishes and fascinations of the gender just add context for the rest?
*Like a tea cozy but to keep your beer cold. Of course, this model would do just the opposite. And some folks like to call them beer koozies. But why confuse this with more puns?

Part I
Several women have been writing me with this question lately: why do men like the idea of gangbangs so much?
Who knew my electronic mailbag would become such a conduit into the male psyche?
Well, if you are willing, follow me down into the subconscious depths to explore these questions.
Obviously, I can only write from one male point of view. But given that numerous women want to know why their boyfriend, lover or husband are asking them to be part of a gangbang, that’s a clue that many men have this desire, this fantasy.
I’ve seen the pictures of the women asking these questions. They could easily get a line of guys to participate. And their lovers know they are on this site, so they know the possibility exists. That must heighten the desire.
I cannot speak for others, but I’ve had those fantasies too. Not always. It depended upon my partner. For instance, I do not have that fantasy about my wife. I have other fantasies and desires reserved for her. But I have dreamed of other partners in gangbangs. Watching them. Taking part with a pack of other men.
What is behind these desires? And why do we have them?

Housecleaning

There’s a big mess to clean up associated with my move.
And this blog is part of that effort.
So there may be some changes in these pages soon.
As new entries appear, other older ones may be disappearing.
Yes, that runs counter to the culture.
But as the regular readers know, we often run in the opposite direction as the crowd.
Just please excuse our dust as we move forward with the renovations.
Not to mention, there’s also that nasty radioactive spill in one of the experimental entries that needs to be cleaned up too!

The Hard Way to 2,000

(June 1, 2006) A special thanks to [blog feel_my_heat] who put comment #2,000 on this blog. Again!
Let’s back up and explain:
Although this blog formally closed in April, it has still slowly gathered comments (and not just on the final entry). Who would have guessed the blog would hit a milestone after closing? It would be easy to ignore this, but your humble author/editor didn’t have a chance to use the wonderful feature shot displayed here of [blog feel_my_heat] and there was an urge to do that before closing up shop. But, alas, there was nowhere appropriate to hang such a marvelous shot. But now we have a more than adequate reason to admire her and thank her. And of course, take note of a final milestone, reached twice.
As further explanation, this blog actually hit the 2,000 comment mark back in March of 2006. Our good friend Keith left it in The Casting Couch. But because of both Housecleaning and Migration, various entries and a number of comments were removed from the blog before it closed. So now, thanks to [blog feel_my_heat] that milestone has been restored.
Thanks to her and thanks to anyone else who manages to return here for our hidden extensions of this blog.

Since late fall, my small spot in the world hasn't felt right creatively.
Perhaps it is just my mood lately. Perhaps it's the neighbors or my manipulative colleagues. For whatever reason, the atmosphere seems to have grown dark and offensive.
So I'm moving. Picking up stakes.
Time to cross the Potomac for new digs. Check in on me once I get settled.

Part I
Your humble author/editor first signed on to this site about a year ago and this blog sprang forth after a few months. At this point, this blog has about ten months behind it and the goal seems to be to at least get to the one year point.
This is the third time this blog has stopped for some intensive under-the-hood reflection, so this is one of those housecleaning entries that is necessary every so often. The last such entry ran in September under the title: Centennial Week Editor.
Although at that time, I thought the format, tone and content of what you find here was fairly set, this blog continues to evolve, sometimes in unexpected ways.
Since that time, this blog has gone through some fits and starts (see: Slow Down and On Probation for more).
Although Ruminations has settled back into boutique blog status, we are posting several items a week, and much of the content remains the same. When this blog first started it was a weekly spot, then in the summer it became an almost daily blog. But in October it was necessary to cut back again. Also, since December the content has sometimes veered into the eclectic and allegorical. Perhaps this is reflective of my restive moods.
