Election Issues

Hi folks,

In my not so humble opinion...

We have been subjected to a lot in information, misinformation, and hype in the last few months. There is pretty much nothing that we have been exposed to that really sits well with anyone. In the process of pre-election hype, I have reads lots of stuff that I find at least disturbing. It becomes more so when I ask for clarification, and am denied that. If anyone should be intolerably arrogant, I would rather it be me. There are some of my network friends that have other ideas on that topic.

For those of you that are new to me here, I am a Navy veteran of Gulf War I, and the stuff that transpired in the Balkans in the 1990's. I am here not to rattle sabres, but out of sheer frustration. In simpler terms, I am not blogging in a feeble (or articulate) attempt to get laid.

I will freely admit that I openly support John McCain and Sarah Palin. I will tell you why. I respect Senator McCain. There are few people remaining on the planet that have paid a higher price for our freedom than he has. He has shown character and integrity above and beyond any call of duty, and held true to the Code of Conduct. I take that part of him very seriously. I believe that he is also am man that agrees to be held accountable to those that he serves.

Governor Palin seems to be a character that is loved by some and loathed by others. I personally see many great things about her that I find favor with. None of them have to do with what she looks like or what she wears in public. I found something special in her persona, and it is remarkably similar to the ladies that I associate with anyway. Strong women never intimidated me. I was looking for an equal partner. I found that.

The opposition those folks face in at least interesting. Sen. Obama is an interesting, aloof, and charismatic character. I ahave not seen anything quite like him unless you open a history book. His oratory influences people like nothing I have heard of since a decorated army veteran that did some time in prison. He was also a community organizer. All told, that man was very successful. He accomplished many great things. His economic policies saved his nation from the Depression, stemmed runaway inflation and unemployment, and placed his people in a position where their accomplishments were not only the envy of the world, but have changed life as we know it from now on. His nation was transformed from abject poverty to one of prosperity and global power. Part of that legacy includes jet aircraft, rockets, the space program, ICBM's, cruise missles, and the extermination of over 6 million Jews. Yes, I am referring to Adolph Hitler.

I mention him partly for shock value, and because it is what I consider to be true. There are other similarities. I consider Sen. Obama to be an inflammatory character because of his rhetoric. He sways many to follow him, but few seem to know what he actually sats, or means. He has generated a lot of financial support, and has his own channel on my TV service provider. He has his own channel here. All Obama, all the time, 24/7. Luckily, I still have the option not to watch, at least for now.

Senator Biden has his own unique legacy to bring to the table. In terms of Great Americans, he has a place on that list. Ronald Reagan was called the "Great Communicator". When he spoke, people around the world listened to him and understood. There was a faction that did not always appreciate his sense of humor, but he was always taken seriously. Bill Clinton was known as the "Great Prevaricator". He faced impeachment not for his off duty conduct, but for his lack of honesty. At worst, he martyred his wife. The current VP cantidate I would consider to be the "Great Plagiarizer". Those patterns of conduct cost him several Presidential nominations. This man has been running for President for the last 30 years, and always seemed to find a way to choke on his foot in his mouth.

Now for the bad news. We are as a Nation faced with one candidate being a very polarizing character. The tactics that have been employed by his supporters are truly beneath contempt. That group has usurped control of the "mainstream media", and has been engaged in their version of psycholigical warfare against the American people. I would not levy that charge without evidence, or witnesses. I was truly disappointed to see the extent that they went to to promote themselves.

Regardless of the outcome of this election, I am reasonably sure of one thing. I expect rioting in the streets, regardless of the vote tally, or the outcome. Regardless of the outcome, the same people wil be rioting. That part cannot be changed, only accelerated. That is now unavoidable.

Views and comments are encouraged, I do not have to like them. If you want to type your mind, go for it. Right or wrong, I would like to hear from you!

Thanks!

Bobby

I had the pleasure of talking with my good friend takenchances47 tonight and somehow we ended up talking some about astrology. I was actually going to blog on this last night, but I got confuseder.

does it really mean anything, or does it really matter? I can only look at my anecdotal evidence and draw the wrong conclusions, as usual.

Like signs are the most obvious to deal with. I am a Virgo (yes, it really is all about me...). Me dealing with another Virgo is always somewhat of a circus. A typical Virgonian response to me is always binary. wW are either inseparable, or cannot stand each other. The most important thing I learned about this interaction is that if the other person seems distant and aloof, it is because they are just like me. We tend to be intelligent, inquisitive, and disgustingly analytical about chicken-shit stuff. Once the light bulb glowed dimly, I realized she was just like me (very scary thought).

I seem to do best with Aries, Taurus, and Scorpio. The most solid and immediate connections seem to occur along those lines.

Aries tend to be aggressive and want to have their way in the long haul. They are incredibly passionate, and a lot of fun to be around.

Taurus tend to be very outgoing and engaging, even if they are introverted. I was married to a Taurus for 22 years. I kinda understand that action.

My very first love was a Scorpio. I should not go there with that. The only reason she broke my heart is because I allowed that to happen. I have been much happier with the ones I have met since then. Scorpios tend to focus on finding the truth in wherever they happen to look. They want to know, and they will eventually find out.

Then there are the marginal ones. I thought I was doing ok with Geminis, but that is a 50 percent proposition. I am never sure which one will show up.

Libra and Pieces are unique are unique. They tend to bring much passion, and cause much pain. I am not into pain.

Libra tends to bring s lot of intensity and passion, but always seems to end in heartbreak.

Pieces are likewise exceptionally passionate, and opinionated as well. that is not a bad thing (hey, I am a Virgo, remember?).You know I am like that. Sometimes we have flashes of greatness, and other times it just self-destructs.

I have not yet done enough research to peg Saggitarians yet, email me.

Aquarians are interesting, passionate, and sincere. I have no real issues, just no apparent fit.

And then there are the ones that make you say NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

I have no idea why, but, Cancer, Leo, and Capricorn just do not work for me. Something just seems to implode when they show up. Sometimes it is me, sometimes it is them. It is not a big deal, just an observation based on my personal anecdotal evidence. Anyone that is willing to prove me wrong is welcome to. I am at least that open minded.

(DISCLAIMER) I submit this as my own personal experience, and I do not expect any of it to be factual. I will make no promises, and tell no big lies.

As always, you comments are greatly appreciated!

Hi Folks,

We keep hearing about racial discrimination in this country, and I think that is BS. I suppose I should clarify that.

I spent 8 years in the military, and can tell you that there is no racial discrimination there. It did not matter where your parents came from or who they were, we have a job to do NOW, and it is getting done NOW! That seems to work just fine. We all worked together, and got the job done, NOW!

The issue was never really the color of one's skin, their accent, or even their native language. The real issues seems to break down to one of culture. That seems to be where everything starts getting ugly.

Think about it. If I am interviewing somebody for a job, I am more concerned about what is in his head than the genes that are in his veins. I had a tendency to hire people for job performance, not the ability to reproduce themselves.

The fact is that cultural racism is what is rampant now. It appears to be common with all races and ethnicities. I think that in this day and age we are old and wise enough to accept folks for what they look like, but not how they act. Probably with good reason. Anyhow, think about it and let me know what yo really think!

Thanks

Bobby

Scars

Scars are something you get when you get hurt, but manage to heal from the immediate problem. I have several. The most profound (and obvious) are the ones I collected almost 30 years ago. There are both penalties and benefits associated with carrying scars around.

What specifically happened when I accumulated the first major set, was me crashing a motorcycle very hard at a high rate of speed. Most of the details are irrelevant now. The bottom lime is that I got stupid and got myself hurt (in terms of scars, that is almost amusing). I spent 7 hours in surgery, 36 hours in the ICU, 8 days in the hospital, and was out of work for a month. The bad news is that I landed on my face, and I am not a pretty boy anymore. I consider myself somewhat disfigured, but that is all in the eye of the beholder. I have been repeatedly told to get plastic surgery, but I refuse. When I was teaching, sometimes students would ask WTF happened to me. When they asked, I told the truth. If not for the grace of God, you could look like this too..

Strangely enough, my worst critics were my ex-in-laws. Considering that my ex-wife and her cunt sister were pulled (or perhaps ejaculated) from the same hole (AKA my ex-mother in law), it leaves me feeling like many have held their noses and tolerated me for as yet unspecified reasons. If I had a dollar for every time I was accused with fucking her cunt sister, I would be retired by now. Anyhow, I digressed....

The actual message I have in this post is that scars come from damage that was done to us at some point in time. The reason we have them is part of the healing process. On the flip side of that, while that seemed positive, not everyone is willing to accept the aftermath of your experience. While there are times that we do suffer, and become stronger from it, there will always be some that find it repulsive. In reality, sometimes these scars are physical, and sometimes they are emotional. There are times when existing scars breed more scars. If you are over 40 and reading this, I am already preaching to the choir.

What I have learned from this is that those that say nothing about these things either find it to be immaterial to their situation, or are holding their noses. Those that did bother to ask either accept me or reject me for being that stupid at that point in my life. Those that openly come unto me, caress me, and say stuff like, "poor baby" have me reaching for my wallet. That is not my weight loss program of choice. The last option I have found is that they get a look at me and run screaming in the opposite direction. While bad for the ego, it does help simplify life in my world.

I have typed more than I planned to already. I can close now. We all have scars of some kind, and they eventually get noticed. They are always bed when you get them, and you can always look back and wish it never happened. That will not change who you are and where you are. We are not empowered to change the past, only influence the future. What we do with that is entirely up to us. That does not mean that is clear cut, only at our discretion. we will still have to act, and react, to whatever happens.

Thanks for reading!

Chili Cook-off

I had to share this. It has been around some, but...

This is supposedly an actual account as relayed to
paramedics at a chili cook-off in Texas.

Note: Please take time to read this slowly. For those of you
who have lived in Texas, you know how true this is. They
actually have a Chili Cook-off about the time Halloween
comes around. It takes up a major portion of a parking lot
at the San Antonio City Park...

>

Judge #3 was an inexperienced Chili taster named Frank, who
was visiting from Springfield, IL.

>Frank:

"Recently, I was honored to be selected as a judge at a
chili cook-off. The original person called in sick at the
last moment and I happened to be standing there at the
judge's table, asking for directions to the Coors Light
truck, when the call came in. I was assured by the other two
judges (Native Texans) that the chili wouldn't be all that
spicy; And, besides, they told me I could have free beer
during the tasting, so I accepted and became Judge 3."

>

Here are the scorecard notes from the event:

>

CHILI # 1 - MIKE'S MANIAC MONSTER CHILI

Judge # 1 -- A little too heavy on the tomato. Amusing kick.

Judge # 2 -- Nice, smooth tomato flavor. Very mild.

Judge # 3 (Frank) -- Holy crap, what the hell is this stuff?
You could remove dried paint from your driveway. Took me two
beers to put the flames out. I hope that's the worst one.
These Texans are crazy.

>

CHILI # 2 - AUSTIN 'S AFTERBURNER CHILI

Judge # 1 -- Smoky, with a hint of pork. Slight jalapeno
tang.

Judge # 2 -- Great BBQ flavor, needs more peppers to be
taken seriously.

Judge # 3 -- Keep this out of the reach of . I'm not
sure what I'm supposed to taste besides pain. I had to wave
off two people who wanted to give me the Heimlich maneuver.
They had to rush in more beer when they saw the look on my
face.

>

CHILI # 3 - FRED'S FAMOUS BURN DOWN THE BARN
CHILI

Judge # 1 -- Excellent firehouse chili. Great kick.

Judge # 2 -- A bit salty, good use of peppers.

Judge # 3 -- Call the EPA. I've located a uranium spill. My
nose feels like I have been snorting Drano. Everyone knows
the routine by now. Get me more beer before I ignite.
Barmaid pounded me on the back, now my backbone is in the
front part of my chest. I'm getting sh*t-faced from all of
the beer.

>

CHILI # 4 - BUBBA'S BLACK MAGIC

Judge # 1 -- Black bean chili with almost no spice.
Disappointing.

Judge # 2 -- Hint of lime in the black beans. Good side dish
for fish or other mild foods, not much of a chili.

Judge # 3 -- I felt something scraping across my tongue, but
was unable to taste it. Is it possible to burn out taste
buds? Sally, the beer maid, was standing behind me with
fresh refills. This 300 lb. woman is starting to look HOT
... just like this nuclear waste I'm eating! Is chili an
aphrodisiac?

>

CHILI # 5 - LISA'S LEGAL LIP REMOVER

Judge # 1 -- Meaty, strong chili. Cayenne peppers freshly
ground, adding considerable kick. Very impressive.

Judge # 2 -- Chili using shredded beef, could use more
tomato. Must admit the cayenne peppers make a strong
statement.

Judge # 3 -- My ears are ringing, sweat is pouring off my
forehead and I can no longer focus my eyes. I farted, and
four people behind me needed paramedics. The contestant
seemed offended when I told her that her chili had given me
brain damage. Sally saved my tongue from bleeding by pouring
beer directly on it from the pitcher. I wonder if I'm
burning my lips off. It really ticks me off that the other
judges asked me to stop screaming. Screw them.

>

CHILI # 6 - VERA'S VERY VEGETARIAN VARIETY

Judge # 1 -- Thin yet bold vegetarian variety chili. Good
balance of spices and peppers.

Judge # 2 -- The best yet. Aggressive use of peppers,
onions, garlic. Superb.

Judge # 3 -- My intestines are now a straight pipe filled
with gaseous, sulfuric flames. I crapped on myself when I
farted, and I'm worried it will eat through the chair. No
one seems inclined to stand behind me except that Sally.
Can't feel my lips anymore. I need to wipe my butt with a
snow cone.

>

CHILI # 7 - SUSAN'S SCREAMING SENSATION
CHILI

Judge # 1 -- A mediocre chili with too much reliance on
canned peppers.

Judge # 2 -- Ho hum, tastes as if the chef literally threw
in a can of chili peppers at the last moment.**I should take
note that I am worried about judge # 3. He appears to be a
bit of distress as he is cursing uncontrollably.

Judge # 3 -- You could put a grenade in my mouth, pull the
pin, and I wouldn't feel a thing. I've lost sight in one
eye, and the world sounds like it is made of rushing water.
My shirt is covered with chili, which slid unnoticed out of
my mouth. My pants are full of lava to match my shirt. At
least during the autopsy, they'll know what killed me. I've
decided to stop breathing its too painful. Screw it; I'm not
getting any oxygen anyway. If I need air, I'll just suck it
in through the 4-inch hole in my stomach.

>

CHILI # 8 - BIG TOM'S TOENAIL CURLING CHILI

Judge # 1 -- The perfect ending, this is a nice blend chili.
Not too bold but spicy enough to declare its existence.

Judge # 2 -- This final entry is a good, balanced chili.
Neither mild nor hot. Sorry to see that most of it was lost
when Judge #3 farted, passed out, fell over and pulled the
chili pot down on top of himself. Not sure if he's going to
make it. Poor feller, wonder how he'd have reacted to the
really hot stuff?

Judge # 3 -- No Report

Interesting concept. What is it really? Why is this going on? What good is it?

What is it really?

Unless I am missing something, phone sex is a way of bringing together people that are miles apart, or just REALLY lazy, for the purpose of mutual satisfaction.

Why is this going on?

Perhaps, two people meet (usually online, but I have tried this with my ex...) and feel a special connection or need. It opens the door to share thoughts and feelings that otherwise might be stuffed. It opens the door for other things as well. It is a great potential icebreaker for before meeting someone the first time. Your mileage may vary (disclaimer).

My bottom line, I will call it as I see it. It reduces itself to mutual masturbation with a willing partner at your ear. it is truly uplifting to have someone by your side (or in your ear) as you share this level of intimacy.

Why is this going on?

I am not too sure about that. It happens. I talk to lots of folks, and have met a few. Many abhor phone, and they would rather have it in person. I am figuring a 20 mile limit, where phone should be off limits. In the Charlotte area, maybe 40-50 is more appropriate.

What good is it?

It is a great way to talk to people and get a feel for where they are really at. This is not for everyone. If it is not for you, I apologize for making you read this far. It has been a great way for me to meet people that live far from me that I share more than I thought with.

OK, have fun with this, wear me out...

Hi Faithful Readers,

I am guilty of Youtube. Due to previous baggage, it is an alternative that works for me. It is a great way to get back in touch with myself, with minimal self-abuse.

My turntable has been not working for while now, and it seemed painless enough when I started surfing there. I apologize, I just love the jolt when I hear something I have not in a very long time. For example, in no particular order....

The Kinks ( if you have to look, try Soap Opera)
Rory Gallagher
Jo Jo Gunne
The Who (and the guy from Germany that drums all that stuff, he kicks ass)
Johnny Winter
Foghat
Billy Sheehan in any context
Ted Nugent

There is no top 10 list here. It is not about me. it is about you!

Wear it out!

Narcissm or Arrogance?

I have read that the peak of narcissism is sleeping on web-cam. I am still undecided if that is narcissism or exhibitionism.

Where I really wanted to go with this was inspired by goingcoastal's post in her blog. What do I do when I am in a funk? Some of it is good, some of it is questionable.

Sometimes I go to Myspace. I view my profile, and remind myself of how great I am. I get to see pictures of sexy women on my friend list and listen to really good music at the same time.

Sometimes I go to YouTube and watch videos of stuff that pleased me when I was younger. Many of those have been deleted, but there are a few left that I find uplifting.

Sometimes, when the bottom falls out, I blog. I made an exception this time.

As usual,

Bobby

It is time to elect a new world leader, and only your vote counts.

Here are the facts about the three leading candidates.

Candidate A-

Associates with crooked politicians, and consults with astrologists. He's had two mistresses. He also chain smokes and drinks 8 to 10 martinis a day.

Candidate B-

He was kicked out of office twice, sleeps until noon, used opium in college and drinks a quart of whiskey every evening.

Candidate C-

He is a decorated war hero. He's a vegetarian, doesn't smoke, drinks an occasional beer and never cheated on his wife.

Which of these candidates would be your choice?

I am curious to see how y'all do! Have Fun!

Online Dating for Dummies, Part 2

Dang, Bobby, a sequel!

Online dating seems to work well for me. I am not trying to vent in this post. I did want to share some observations.

If you are new to this, there are only two obvious things to do. You can either find somebody, or sit on your ass and wait for somebody to find you. For some strange reason, this is not always as easy as it looks. If we break this down into the individual modes, we have active and passive.

Since we are all really horny and want to get laid, we can start with the active mode. What this involves is determining what you would want and expect from a potential partner, searching them out, and making contact. That is the basic part. This should be a simple matter of determining priorities, doing the appropriate search, and taking the obvious to the bank. For Fred Average, this approach is almost always a waste of time and effort. Over 90 percent of online failures are generated this way. The appropriate search criteria may be iffy. If you desire any response, the highest priority in the search should be activity. Response in no way guarantees success. If you are bringing enough money to the table to land Miss Barbie America, cut to the chase and pay the .

If we flip this over and attempt the passive approach, it is equally challenging. This method involves trolling your virtual worm around the internet and hoping somebody nibbles on it. This requires as much planning like the active method, yet a little different. Instead of chasing the partners you want, you let the potential partners that want you chase you. In this case, the probability of success increases by a minimum of a factor of 5. If you like surprises, this may be the way to go. In the purest form of this, you have eliminated your own search criteria, and allowing yourself to be subjected to that of others.

Both of these methods are extreme examples. Maximum happiness is actually a fusion of both methods. I intend to discuss those in a later post.

Thanks for reading,

Bobby

I was reading some ladies' profiles that are networked with me and saw something I am not real clear about. They are called testimonials. There was one lady (local) in particular whose profile testimonials caught my eye.She has 3 testimonials posted, and two of the guys I have obliquely crossed paths with. This is a euphemism for, "I stole their women (yes, plural)". I have heard ALL about them. These guys are not the only ones that I have been in an adversarial position with. I have read some of their blogs, and was amazed with the amount of profundity in their prose. In other words, I think I know why they are not getting laid. Well, that is not entirely true. There is more than one man on this website that adjusted his standards to meet his ends. I am not on that list.

What I do not understand is some of the testimonials I read. Many of them are speculative, which belies the concept of testimony. "I would like to" is not very strong testimony in my opinion.I think that somewhere there is a line drawn between close personal friends and bullshitters.

Are some of the self-esteem levels that low? I suspect many are all over the map on that one.

Maybe more later, I need to take a break...
